As the first of two opening acts for The Regrettes on Friday night, Micky James wasted little time in setting the tone for the evening, charismatically diving headlong into a bombastic, adrenalin-fueled performance of “Cry Baby”, “Tie Me Up”, and “Walk the Line”. Staking his claim on Subterranean’s stage with an uncompromising grip, ripe with showmanship and passion, James quickly blurred the lines between opening act expectations and an eventual headliner.
