Canada's Alvvays Perform at Thalia Hall
Alec O’Hanley and Molly Rankin of Alvvays sparkle at Thalia Hall.
Toronto’s Alvvays played to a full house at Thalia Hall Friday night, promoting their just released “Antisocialites” album. Known for their dream-pop sound, rich with sharp and jangly riffs from guitarist Alec O’Hanley and vocalist Molly Rankin, Alvvays quickly rose to indie pop status with their heartthrob favorite “Archie Marry Me” back in 2014. With the release of “Antisocialites”, the Canadian group’s sophomore effort double-downs on witty, self aware melodies with “Plimsoul Punks”, while amping up the synth in “Dreams Tonight”, while keeping heart breaks longingly fresh with “Not My Baby”.
Special thanks to Thalia Hall for allowing me to be house photographer for the night. Looking forward to future shows at this beautiful venue!
