Wolf Alice Heads Down a Rabbit Hole at the Metro
Ellie Rowsell heads down a rabbit hole at the Metro.
Back in 2016, I made made an impromptu trip to Indianapolis to catch Wolf Alice at the Old National Centre, but with no media credentials at the ready, I was turned away with my trusty Nikon, but returned, only to be relegated to shooting a few dark and hapless iPhone pics. An incredible live show regardless, I drove home already mentally in line for their next show in Chicago, and an opportunity to properly capture them on my home court.
Selling out the Metro Friday night, Chicago was treated to a Wolf Alice show, in what seems to be an increasingly rare site in town. (Their last Chicago show in 2017, with a limited ticket sales didn’t add up to a full concert) Opening the nineteen song set with “Heavenward”, the four-brit , alternative rock quintet escalated to fan favorites “Bros” and “Lisbon”, with newer tracks “Don’t Delete The Kisses” and “Yuk Foo” surfacing from their 2017 album “Visions Of A Life”.
Finally armed with a photo pass, I was fortunate enough to catch the few shots I’d hoped for. Despite being satisfied with the show, I drove home a bit forlorn, wondering when their next elusive show would be.
