THE JETT GIRLS

At the end of last year, I decided to cut back on posts, tired of decreasing connection, creeping burnout, and IG's drawbacks. Taking a step back can rekindle the passion that drew me to photography initially.

THE JETT GIRLS — 1

So why am I kicking off January with a huge five-part post?

I don't know what changed my mind.

THE JETT GIRLS — 2

In retrospect I was just happy for the Jett Girls' return, or rather, "invasion".

At first, it was just whispers. Crazy talk. Fake news. Rumors that a rogue band of celestial body snatchers had taken over a group called the Thigh-Hi's. Really? They don't even look like them. I shot the JGs last year and they were very terrestrial. I did feel strange after that show, though. Lightheaded. Maybe from skipping earplugs. Or?

Strange.

Soon, the media confirmed there were no invading fleets or ray guns but something worse: a Jett Girls' sound so electric it could rewire you from the inside out. Their intentions became clear. They weren't from here, and Earth was next on their list for conquest.

Panic spread. Conspiracists wore tinfoil hats to block the "JG sound," unaware aluminum amplified it. Real tinfoil, ironically, would've reduced their sonic influence to harmless whistles.

But I'm jumping ahead. Their shows started locally and resistance soon faded. Harmonies tangled your mind and rhythms synced with your pulse. By the end, you weren't sure if you were still you or something else entirely and no longer in control. As the last note of theirs lingered, only one thought remained: you'd follow them anywhere.

Of course, it was all hearsay. Again, crazy talk. Fake news debunked. The Thigh-Hi's are still of sound body and mind. No mental abductions. The world had a good laugh before welcoming the JGs back into their homes with sheepish apologies. The end.

Anyway, here's part one of five. Still don't know. Why. I'm. Doing. It.

It.

Hail to our new Queens as they head West with me not far behind. As always, snippets of their infectious songs are included in my posts. Turn it UP.

*A few random shots of the JGs in this set were taken by Victoria (@victoriahappyyyy the great), not me.
