SCARLET DEMORE

When walking up to the Beat Kitchen, I ran across a parade of punks of the friendliest kind entering the venue, all smiles and electrically charged up with the anticipation of a mosh and seeking out a single outlet to relinquish it all to. I asked one of the punks which artist she came to see in the triple bill. Easy.

SCARLET DEMORE — 1

For her, that outlet was to see Scarlet Demore.

Discovering an opening act that rockets to the top of my next shoot-to-do-list is akin to the best of surprise parties. You walk into a room knowing something good may happen, but don't realize Scarlet Demore's on the other side of the door, ready to pounce, grab your lapels and set the room in perpetual motion, expecting you to keep up.

SCARLET DEMORE — 2

Exactly.

During the rapid fire shoot, (which overheated my camera for only the second time) I expected to have a lot of 'throw-aways' when curating in post. The ratio of photos taken to keep, versus to trash, was heavily IN favor to keep. A rarity for me and all due to Scarlet's photogenic barrage of moves that kept the punk parade in manic lock step.
