PIXEL GRIP

A stage performance fit for stadiums was barely contained within the pulsating walls of the Empty Bottle Friday night.

Rita Lukea, Tyler Ommen, and Jonathon Freund of Pixel Grip sent dark wave acolytes into a communal fugue through dance, light, and the best of beats.

I'm nowhere near being familiar with the current electronic dance culture, but Pixel Grip's sound and aesthetic can maybe be mistaken for being European in origin, making their local Chicago native status an amazing reveal. A new to me group of artists I'm excited to follow and happy to call neighbors.⚡️
