Photographing concerts usually involves capturing acts I'm already familiar with, as they often populate my playlists. I anticipate their performance, hoping they'll play my favorite tracks. However, Otoboke Beaver entered my radar solely through their reputation and algorithmic recommendations, diverging from my usual musical preferences. Intrigued by their electric online presence, I was drawn to photograph them despite never having heard their music beforehand.

Their show at Thalia Hall exceeded all expectations, surprising me (but kinda not) with unexpected twists and a lol moment I've never experienced at a show.
It was a 'shoot first, ask questions later' scenario.

Although I struggle to fully articulate my arc to get to this IG post, incorporating three of their songs into my playlist marks the beginning of a journey full of wonderful questions.
Captured for Thalia Hall.
