Heralding an imminent autumnal equinox and the inevitable chill it brings to undead veins, Messer Chups returns after a year of whispered rumours, hushed anticipation, silent offerings, and ultimately summoned by the Midwestern faithful emboldened by inevitable lunar madness and their longing for all things spectral.
Grand Rapids is far from the Abyss, but I would've traveled to either to capture a photo of the horror surf rock trio's annual visit to the land of the corporeal.
Traveling from Chicago, a northerly option in Michigan would prove to be far less harrowing.
After Messer Chups' performance, I was able to commune with them albeit briefly; sensitive to the approaching sunrise, hours away notwithstanding. I took this opportunity to capture as much photographic evidence of their existence as possible. I expected 665-667 usable photos to edit with my final image count well below that number, but enough to confirm once and for all that zombies, blood suckers, and cryptids exist within the world of unbelievers.
