Fazerdaze was the first international artist I wanted to photograph, a long shot in my head, an understatement as far a notion as the New Zealand she hails from, eighteen hours to Chicago according to someone in the doe-eyed crowd of Schubas.

Fazerdaze's last Chicago visit was six winters ago, a show I missed only by months due to my latent discovery of the artist. Bummed.

Tonight's sold out show made up for it with the city's hottest day of the year warmly welcoming her back, her return bearing new music for the Chicago faithful.
As a solo act for the evening, Fazerdaze's technical artistry in the use of looping pedals was fun to marvel at, devoid of gimmickry and rich with ethereal, fuzzy, full sounding accompaniment adorned by vocals that limited my image count as I consistently lowered my camera so I can just watch and listen.
Between songs, Fazerdaze said seeing people listen to her play live made everything seem more real. If the 'everything' is her creative effort and the beautiful music that comes from it, then for her fans, seeing her live for their 'everything' works wonderfully both ways.
